Friends of SCPD K-9 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital resources to the SCPD Canine Section in partnership with the community.

Friends of SCPD K-9 helps to solicit donations from interested individuals, charitable organizations and foundations, agencies, institutions, associations, and corporations whose goal it is to support police canines and enhance the field of law enforcement.

Empowering Community
& Canine Partnerships

Friends of SCPD K-9 is committed to:

  • Training for canines and their handlers so as to better serve the community.

  • Promoting the development of relationships between individuals in the community who have the means and desire to provide material support.

  • Organizing and conducting outreach programs to enhance the relationship between the community and the SCPD Canine Section

  • Improving the image of the working police canine to the community through improved public service in the prevention and detection of crime.

Support the Heroes Behind the Badge

The SCPD Canine Section is funded through the County of Suffolk Operating Budget, of which a small portion is allocated for canine veterinary care, canine nutrition and limited replacement of essential canine supplies. Your tax-deductible donation to Friends of SCPD K-9 will help a variety of initiatives, including equipment, training and projects that will further the mission of the Canine Section to the community.
